Since 2010, a new form of censorship aimed at muzzling the actors of information is operated by political authorities who are enemies of democracy. Even in some countries, once reputed to be stable and democratic, attempts to suffocate the civic space have been noted, notably by cutting off the internet or sabotaging connections to social networks. These new online platforms, which have become extensions of the civic space, disrupt dictatorial regimes. To restrict this space of freedom, they set up a restrictive or abusive legal arsenal. The work of whistleblowers is thus subjected to a demotivating control and surveillance.

To address this blatant violation of human rights and the right of access to information, Afric-Tivists has set up a secure online interface that guarantees anonymity for any information actor wishing to blow the whistle. This secure digital platform is only accessible through the encrypted Tor network. This tool guarantees access to information on issues of public interest while protecting its disseminator who for one reason or another cannot be displayed.
